Dr. Justin Nguyen graduated summa cum laude and earned his bachelor of science (BS) degree in Microbiology at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. He then continued his studies at Harvard University where he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree. While there, he served as class president and held several national and international positions including being a site director for Oral Health Across Nations (OHAN) and doing an internship at the World Health Organization (WHO) / Pan-American Health Organization (PAHO) in Washington, D.C. where he developed training materials for integrating oral health services into primary health care. In addition, he rotated through the various hospitals in Boston as a student doctor at Massachusetts General Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and Boston Children’s Hospital and worked on and presented several research projects on oral health.
Dr. Nguyen matched into his top choice for medical school and oral and maxillofacial surgery (OMFS) residency at Case Western Reserve University. He subsequently received his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree and served as an OMFS resident physician at some of the nation’s top hospitals in the country including the Cleveland Clinic, ranked #2 hospital in the country by U.S. News & World Report. He also served in this capacity at University Hospitals and Metrohealth Medical Center, both level I trauma centers, as well as at the Cleveland Veteran Affairs Medical Center, the third largest VA in the nation. He completed an internship in general surgery where he spent extensive time on Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Head and Neck Oncology, Cranialfacial Surgery, Trauma Surgery, and Pediatric Surgery.
Dr. Nguyen is an active member of the Northern Virginia Dental Society, American Dental Association, American Medical Association, National Dental Board of Anesthesiology, American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, Middle Atlantic Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Academy of Osseointegration, and the Chalmers J. Lyons Academy, and serves as one of the team oral surgeons for D.C. United, the Major League Soccer (MLS) team and Washington Sprit, the National Women’s Soccer League (NWLS) team in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Nguyen currently resides in Fairfax, Virginia. In his free time, he enjoys running, traveling, watching movies, and spending time with his family and friends.
