Dr. Daniel Winokur was born and raised in the small beach town of Spring Lake, New Jersey. He attended The George Washington University and graduated with honors, earning degrees in Finance and Economics. In undergrad he played Division I golf and began an internship at one of the largest investment banks on Wall Street. After graduation he began a full time position in Manhattan and ended his career in finance while working on the trading desk in London, England. After his repatriation, he completed a post-baccalaureate degree in Biology and Chemistry from the University of North Carolina.
Dr. Winokur graduated with a Doctor of Medical Dentistry (DMD) from The Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health where he received a Certificate in Public Health and the Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery award. Throughout his dental school training he attended and organized multiple humanitarian trips to Central and South America providing dental care to those in need.
After dental school he completed his surgical training at one of the country’s premier programs, The University of Miami / Jackson Memorial Hospital. His time in Miami was heavily focused on trauma, dentoalveolar, and pathology surgery, as well as pediatric and adult anesthesia. In addition, he became proficient in implant surgery and bone grafting. Throughout his residency his interests led him to research for which he was published in the areas of reconstruction, osteonecrosis of the jaw, and cancer of the head and neck.
Dr. Winokur serves as one of the team oral surgeons for D.C. United, the Major League Soccer (MLS) team and Washington Spirit, the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) team in Washington, D.C. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf, running, fishing, and spending time with his family.
